THE 1st AFRICA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (AFRIFF) CALLS FOR ENTRIES – Call for Entries open from 10th April to 13th August 2010.

From the 1 st to the 5 th of December 2010, the world of film will converge in Port Harcourt , Rivers State , Nigeria for the first edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).

This 4-day event is to become the annual appointment of global filmmaking on Africa's soil comprising of film screenings in cinemas; a technical training series aimed at raising local industry standards; business sessions and networking events; and the launch of a unique Film and Equipment market that will encourage and widen content trade out of Africa and global partnerships.

The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) has released a star-studded video online to promote the festival and its theme “Africa Unites”.

The video, already gaining popularity on You Tube and Facebook, features guest appearances by Jude Idada (Screenwriter/Producer), Rita Dominic (Nollywood actress), D'banj (MTV award winning musician), Daryl Hannah (Hollywood actress), Hon. Following its unveiling at the 6 th Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) is now on a roll with its first event; a launch party which took place on Friday 23 rd of April 2010. The stylish affair held at the Atlantic Beach Centre; a hidden gem in Lagos, Nigeria attracted an eclectic mix of the African corporate, media and entertainment world.
