The enigmatic founder and project director of AFRIFF is an ardent film lover. An avid film watcher and commentator, her passion for movies grew more intense after her entrance into the Nigerian Movie Industry through her involvement in the production of the 2007 Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) UK Roadshow,
June Givanni was born in Guyana, grew up in the UK and has worked in film and broadcasting for many years. She was co-coordinator of Third Eye festival of Third world Cinema in 1983 in London; ”the Third Cinema Conference" in Edinburgh in the mid 1980s; and ran the BFI’s " African Caribbean Unit" in the 1990s. She is also the editor of the book Symbolic Narratives/Africa Cinema, published by BFI. More generally, June has worked as a film and television programmer for over 25 years specializing in African and African Diaspora film internationally, working with Festivals, organizing events and writing about film and television. June has served on film Juries such as Fespaco; Zanzibar Festival of the Dhow Countries; 
Peace Anyam-Osigwe a writer, film producer and a presenter of her own talk show, "A Piece off My Mind." She conceived, planned, financed and hosts the annual AMAA Awards, the primary film awards in Africa today, and set up the Africa Film Academy in 2005. Her film credits include films that have been shown at international film festivals, such as the Berlin Film Festival and the Durban International Film Festival. Peace holds the position of Director of Media and Publicity for the Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation.
