AFRICA FILM AND EQUIPMENT MARKET

The FILM CONTENT & EQUIPMENT MARKET(AFEM) is an initiative of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), a celebration of Filmmaking dedicated to promoting peace in Africa and global awareness through movies.
The AFEM is a networking event wherein partnerships are encouraged through development of content and trade channels which consists of two major expos:
The Equipment Expo
• An exposition of various film equipment and accessories by their manufacturers
• A showcase of cutting edge technologies and services by industry leaders in Film, Television and Broadcast, Sound and Audio, Lighting and staging, Animation and other related fields
• Featuring Live demos, workshops and product presentations.
The Film Market
• A film and content pitching initiative that aims to provide a veritable forum for select filmmakers to showcase their projects to prospective investors and content buyers.
The objective is to create tangible value to the development and promotion of the African and local film industries, by exposing the young film industry to the very best in film Technologies and services and build a bridge for the Vendors and manufacturers across Africa to access virtually untapped markets in Nigeria. Lagos, Nigeria is the capital of the entertainment industries of West Africa and offers such an untapped market (especially in Digital film and television markets) for direct sales and direct interaction as there are no suppliers on ground in Nigeria and hence the only competition comes from internet sales and or buyers travelling abroad to purchase.
